Have you ever tried using old medical or clinical applications in Windows 7? Doing so, you’ll notice that if you try hitting F1 in such applications, Windows will whine “The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows. However, you can download a program that will allow you to view Help created in the Windows Help format.”
There are many old applications we use everyday that rely on old Microsoft HLP files. There is a WinHlp32.exe download for Windows Vista, but Windows 7 is not supported by Microsoft. They suggest users to wait until the late October RTM availability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2!
Fortunately, my boyfriend has made us a patch to fix Windows 7’s WinHlp32.exe.
